Join Our Team as a Prison to Community Recovery Practitioner!

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of women? We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at the Gloucester Women’s Centre. As a Prison to Community Recovery Practitioner, you'll provide holistic support to women involved with the Criminal Justice System, ensuring they receive the care they need both in prison and in the community.

What We Offer:

• Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum pro rata dependent on experience.
• Hours: 28 hours per week (to include Monday and Friday)
• Pension: 6% employer contribution pension.
• Holiday: 25 days per annum plus statutory pro rata
• Fixed Term Contract: 12 month fixed term contract.

Your Role:

• Provide gender-responsive, trauma-informed support.
• Collaborate with various agencies to ensure continuity of care.
• Empower women to achieve their full potential.
• Hold a caseload of women with a criminal justice and substance misuse need.
• Work with partner organisations and assist women to access specialist support services.
• Deliver evidence-based psychosocial interventions in one-to-one and group settings.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience of working with women with multiple complex needs, in the criminal justice system, and with a substance misuse need.
• Ability to undertake needs assessments, develop support plans, and maintain risk assessments.
• Understanding of women’s multiple and complex needs, and the criminal justice system.
• Empathy, ability to engage with women who may find it difficult to access services, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A car driver with willingness to travel to different locations.

Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres, this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) as it involves access to vulnerable adults and/or children and successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced level Disclosure & Barring Service Check.
